THE MAKERS

OUR STORY

Tony Hilton has been making tables for over 15 years. Tony has a wonderful aesthetic and is able to not only turn reclaimed timber into works of art in the form of furniture, but his finishes are what really draw you in. The detail of the joinery, the traditional methods such as timber dowels and tenon joints, and the feel under hand is what makes pieces by The Table Maker so unique. Tony's love of timber is innate in each piece of furniture.

Rupert Roxburgh has been working with timber, not only making furniture but also as owner of Beachwood Designs, in design, quality assurance and manufacturing for over 10 years. Rupert has extensive experience in working with commercial and residential clients ensuring that quality, deadlines, communication and delivery of the furniture is consistent and professional.

Both Rupert and Tony are originally from rural NSW - growing up surrounded by the land. They both have a true appreciation of the strength, versatility and beauty of timber and the natural environment. Their strength lies not only in the furniture they design and make, how long they have been working together and a commitment to sustainability, but also in the honesty, efficiency and service they provide to their clients.

The Table Maker & Co. was formed in 2019 after working together and supplying the highest quality custom timber furniture to a number of leading clients and venues for over 10 years. Our excitement lies in being able to provide unique pieces, while using modern principles and design, to embody the history and character of timber.

We are acutely mindful of preserving the source of our tables and ensuring that our making process has a low impact on the environment. Re-using and re-purposing timber is our strength. We also focus on working with suppliers, partners and clients who care about sustainability. We make conscious decisions about the materials we use, oils, waxes, paints and management of our workshop.
